Aspen Plus Workshop
The Chemical Engineering Association organized a two day workshop on Aspen Plus for the third year Chemical Engineering students. The workshop began on 19th September with a lecture on modelling and simulation by Professor Anne Sarath Babu from NIT Warangal. He then demonstrated the use of the Aspen Plus software for process simulation. The students were able to understand and apply the concepts of rating, analysis and design problems using the software. By the end of the workshop, students could solve chemical engineering problems pertaining to thermodynamic properties, mixers and splitters, decanters, pumps, heat exchangers, reactors, flash columns and material balances with Aspen Plus. The workshop was extremely interesting and equipped the students with the basic knowledge they will require for future process simulation projects.
